A 6-month review cycle, which takes around a month of focus, creates a difficult working environment.
Engineering has turned from a very high collaboration environment to an "every person for themself" environment.
Focus less on weeding out the "poor performers" and foster an environment of collaboration. The company morale is at an all-time low, and it's clearly due to the performance expectations and the environment that created it.
