1 initial technical discussion, 1 take-home assignment, 1 technical discussion reviewing take-home assignment.
The recruiter gave me only a weekend to complete the take-home assignment and asked me to submit it by Monday morning. Then, after a week, they asked for a video interview. The recruiter did not provide me with any other information regarding this round. During the interview, the interviewer asked me to go through the code and asked follow-up questions.
I sent follow-up emails to the recruiter many times but didn't get a response. I finally sent an email including the hiring manager, and then another recruiter replied back, stating that the hiring team was not interested in proceeding with me and that I should have received an automated notification. However, I did not receive that email. The recruiter replied again, asking me to check my trash folder. I did not receive any email in the trash folder as well.
This is one of the worst interview processes I have ever attended. After giving away my whole weekend to complete their take-home assignment, they didn't even care to respond back about feedback or rejection. They simply ghosted me. Instead, they blamed an automated system. It was one of the most ineffective hiring processes and communication methods. No one in the organization seemed to know what was going on.
All interviewers and recruiters were very rude. They did not care to provide any direction or respond to any emails.
Never attend an interview with this company, especially if they give take-home assignments. They don't know how to conduct interviews, are not interested in hiring anyone, and instead waste applicants' time and resources. My advice to this organization is to at least show a little respect to the candidates who spend their personal time to complete the tasks you are giving them to work on over the weekend.
