I had a recruiter call scheduled.
They told me a bit about the company, and I spoke about my experience a little.
They then scheduled me for a coding assessment interview. I asked if it would be practical or LeetCode. I was told LeetCode, so I prepped for that every evening for a little over a week.
When I went to the interview, it turned out to be a simple "make an API and call it" problem. I was very thrown off. Combined with organic interview nerves, I felt I performed so-so.
The interviewer was a bit stern and had a disapproving air at times. This, combined with the dev environment not working properly for me, made it safe to say it was a poor experience.
I hadn’t worked with the stack for a few months, so it would’ve been nice to have had the chance to prep and refresh the correct material.
I asked for a follow-up and received an automated "rate your interview experience" email instead.
All in all, a bad experience.
Call an API and render it in React.
