Good work environment. The work schedule can be flexible, and I have control over my pace without feeling people are looking over my shoulder. Most of the people are nice. Work-life is somewhat balanced, even though every year there are a few months that could be really busy. A 6-week sabbatical every 4 years is definitely a plus. Generally, compensation is pretty good.
Not enough career growth opportunities. You do get recognized if you do a good job, but obviously it is not of the manager's concern about your future career development.
The whole company lacks the spirit of innovation. As one of the leaders in the CAD/CAM industry, it seems the only way to develop its "own" technology is to acquire other small businesses.
If you expect the revenue to keep growing, please invest in researching new technologies. Not that type of eye-catching, fancy technology, but the real technology that benefits our customers. Our customers are mostly traditional and probably don't care too much if it is a web-based application or not. Most of the time, they just want to get their job done in a quick, easy fashion.
