I had the opportunity to work at Autodesk's new Pier 9 office, which was amazing. I really came here to use the world-class shop. I loved being right next to the artists in residence, who create amazing and inspiring things.
They also often have speakers come in to share inspiring work. My manager and co-workers were very nice and patient as I learned the skills needed to do my job. There seems to be a very nice work-life balance, as a lot of freedom is given to the employees as to when they want to work from home.
The work itself was a lot of integration, and there were not a lot of opportunities to write new/creative code.
I did not end up using the shop as much as I wanted to when I came here, due to being very wiped by the end of the day. I wish I had some time set aside where I could work on personal fabrication projects.
It was also difficult to understand some of the code bases, as there did not seem to be a whole lot of documentation.
Clean up code bases and have Fridays off to work on personal projects.
The whole process took 1.5 years. I visited headquarters as part of an alternative spring break with my university and then applied for a summer internship. I had already accepted an offer and started working for a different company when Autodesk cal
No online assessment. I received an email from the recruiter to schedule an interview. The first round was behavioral with the hiring manager. It was pretty easy, with some basic technical questions. The second interview was technical. I was asked
The assessment day involved a group project, a 1-hour coding test, and a 1-hour interview. The interview was split into 3 parts: * A motivations section * Technical questions * A puzzle
