Javascript Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I applied online by answering some questions and sending my resume. Several weeks later, I was contacted to set up a chat.

When I responded with available times over several days, the person took several days to reply with a time I hadn't listed as available. When I responded that I would not be available at 7 AM for an interview, the person took two days to respond (less than 24 hours until the scheduled chat time) that we could conduct it at a time within my window.

I responded that that was fine and inquired how the chat would be conducted. I received no response until the day of the interview, when I received an invitation to a Slack channel.

The interview was tedious and didn't mention anything I had detailed in my resume or the questions I answered. The interviewer seemed distracted and didn't really respond to anything I said.

All in all, the whole process was very disorganized. I really liked Automattic as a company before this, and the process has me rethinking some of my feelings.
