Javascript Engineer Interview Experience

Process

One of the worst interview experiences.

A process that took nearly two months and ended with practically no helpful feedback.

The interview itself seemed to have very little to do with the job, mostly test-related questions for a JavaScript Engineer role.

Testing is important, but the majority of questions in an interview should not be around testing, unless the job is specifically for a JavaScript Test Engineer role.

They expect candidates to answer a ton of questions, yet can't offer the courtesy of some helpful feedback.

Save your time and look elsewhere if you're thinking of applying here.

Questions

Could you tell me about a time when you've used automated testing? What did you test, and how did it help you?

One very common problem with comprehensive end-to-end tests like this is that they can take a very long time. How did you mitigate this?

Some arguments around automated UI-related tests are that they could become over-comprehensive and get in the way of design polishing. I'm wondering how you find the balance between flexibility and stability.
