It's the dream job for those who are pursuing a dream job. The everyday tasks are exciting, and everyone is willing to help, whether they are from your team or not. The company is constantly keen to provide employees opportunities to grow and strive. The work hours are flexible, so picking a kid from kindergarten or visiting a doctor is not a problem. You have an opportunity to learn from your colleagues and help others to learn as well.
It's not a con, but it's still important to highlight it.
There are an infinite amount of tasks to do, and the sun never sets due to the distributed nature of the company. Therefore, it will be hard to work long-term without incorporating the ability to log out from the work process in the evenings.
Accomplishing another task before your day ends is tempting, so we must be careful and maintain our work-life balance.
Please keep going. I enjoy how Automattic generally works, how wisely the company tackles various obstacles, and how we incorporate new technologies into our day-to-day life.
Zoom interview. I passed a code interview, which took about a week to complete. Then, I entered the "paid" project. This drew out over three months. Feedback was very slow but positive until I was suddenly told that the trial was coming to an end and
Call with HR. Invited to the Slack group where the technical test is shared. Needs to work on the test based on their instructions and commit it to their GitHub.
They don't really hire for positions. Rather, when you apply, you join a 'talent pool' where they may or may not get back to you. It's not really nice applying to such a void, but they do state that on their careers page.
