Got a call for an F2F interview at the Gurgaon office. I reached there at 10:00 am. After a wait of 4 hours, I was called for the interview. When I entered the room, there were 4-5 candidates being interviewed over the telephone. I was asked to wait until one of the lines became free.
After some while, HR came and dialed a number for me. The interviewer on the other side seemed to be in a hurry or not interested in taking the interview.
After explaining the current project to him, I was expecting some technical questions. To my surprise, he asked just one question and didn't even let me complete the answer. Might be his lunch was waiting for him :-D
He asked me if I knew Java. I told him prior to Hadoop, I was working as a Java developer. At that moment, I expected he should have asked some questions on Java, but he didn't ask any.
What I believe is either he was not interested in taking the interview or he lacks technical skills.
Advice to HR: Your overall interview process lacks professionalism. If you called a candidate for F2F, make sure the interview doesn't get converted to telephonic after making the candidate wait for 4 hours. And don't put undeserving people onto the interview panel.
He didn't even seriously ask a question.
