Process

Hi,

I got a call from a consultant to attend an interview for Bank of America, Hyderabad. I was interviewing for a Java development profile with 5 years of experience.

I reached the Bank of America office from my home on a weekend (by traveling 20 km). After reaching, the HR over there asked me to provide a passport-size photo, resume, and ID proof.

After waiting for 4 hours, the HR came to me and said, "This interview is for people with 6 years plus experience. We don't want to waste your time, please leave for the day." And the HR said, "We will have one more interview planned for 5 years of experience, please attend that."

After 3 months, I again got a call to attend an interview. Again, the same process and they made me wait for 4 hours. After that, the HR came to me and said, "This interview is not for the Java profile, and we are looking for a Python profile. So please leave for the day, we don't want to waste your time. We will have one more round of interview next week for Java profiles."

The HR guys from Bank of America, Hyderabad, are too unprofessional in doing their jobs. This is not the way an organization should hire employees. An organization needs employees, and an employee needs an organization; both are important to each other.

HR should review profiles. If they think a profile is suitable, then only they should call for an interview. If they are doubtful, first have a telephonic round and then call for a face-to-face interview.

This is the poorest form of conducting an interview I have ever seen. I request the Bank of America HR department to be more professional in dealing with the recruitment department.

I would have been happy if they had taken either a written test or a 15-minute discussion and then rejected me! But without doing any of them, calling for an interview, making us travel long distances, and making us wait for a very long time. And then say, "We are looking for different domain people!"

This bitter experience was the same for many candidates in Hyderabad. If the same trend continues, people will never attend interviews for Bank of America.
