Pros

There are many resources to help you learn a diverse range of skills and subject areas, which can directly help you advance into different lines of business or grow within your functional area.

Cons

It is difficult to find the time (as an hourly associate, at least) to put in the effort to seriously learn new skills and subject areas at a professional level, since production and deliverable targets already take up most of your time, if not all.

Advice to Management

Evaluate production targets versus the time it takes to achieve them. Ensure time is factored in (perhaps even assigned within their schedules) to let them take meaningful time to grow in areas that will help your department and advance their careers.
