A large organization which provides a lot of opportunity to learn many roles across a variety of teams without having to change companies. As with most companies, your direct manager will have the most influence on your experience in your role. I've gotten lucky that most of my managers have been great to work with.
A large organization with many bureaucratic processes. Most recognize these are complex and inefficient, but it still seems no one is willing to make the changes to simplify and improve those ingrained processes (i.e., timekeeping, project-based funding, etc.).
If you are serious about streamlining your organization, then be willing to make the tough decisions and state why and when they will occur, instead of what comes off as passive-aggressive.
For example, two years ago, the bank started to bring employees back from work-from-home programs in an effort to foster better team collaboration. This is great in theory; however, many teams are still split across multiple states, and within the same city, are in different buildings or floors of the same building.
When the culture is to be on conference calls from early in the morning until the end of the day, there isn't time to "roam" the halls fostering collaboration. If the goal is team collaboration, then make the tough decisions to cut resources not in key locations and pay the money to move teams into closer proximity in the same building on the same floor.
HR, Manager, and then technical.
Unique situation because I applied at a conference that Bank of America was sponsoring. I spoke to two software engineers that then asked me for my resume and about my experience. I ended up getting an interview later that day. The interview was 4
The interview was around 90 minutes, and a panel of 6 members interviewed me. The first person concentrated more on technical questions related to development, like Schedulers and Data Structures, and other questions regarding my previous projects. T
