Pros

Intern pay is really good, and starting pay if you rejoin is solid too. Most interns get a return offer as long as they're competent. There's an opportunity to network and grow skills if you take the initiative. It's good experience working for a large multinational company with good name recognition.

Cons
  • Kind of boring work depending on where you get assigned, use old technologies and convoluted old systems.
  • Some of the people you work with are very boring; boring meaning a lack of enthusiasm for what they do.
  • Charlotte, NC is an underwhelming city if you're used to places like NYC, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Dallas, Austin, etc...
Advice to Management

Put interns into more cutting-edge positions.

Make them take more risks instead of working on an average team doing average system improvements.
