Pros

• Work-life balance can exist. • Collaborative, professional culture with a lot of mentorship. • Opportunities to pick up other technologies/skills, if you want. • Respect shown to both contractors and FTEs, in my experience. • Great manager and colleagues, pending what project you’re on.

Cons

• No exit interview. • Bloated tech processes. • Work from home is not an option. • Annual raise is barely above health insurance cost raise. • Low compensation compared to other banks in the area. • Contract-to-hire took almost a year longer than original time frame given.

Advice to Management

Stop viewing tech as a cost center and give teammates a reason to stay by providing WFH as an option, higher compensation, and having more tech-powered processes.
