Great place to learn basic sales skills. Always busy, not a lot of downtime. Great place to make friends and learn firsthand about products and how retail stores are run. It is a great stepping-stone company. Lastly, the discount is bomb!
Unlike Future Shop, where you were commissioned, Best Buy is not. Something about being pressured to sell, sell, sell doesn't go too well for someone who is making $12 an hour. The managers try to help out by compensating for sales, giving money off products or having fun games for prizes. But you can't get mad at someone for not selling a warranty on every product with no real reward.
I think management has always been great.
There is a lot of turnover, but most of the managers are really nice and down to earth.
I feel like they should focus more on team wins, more than the lack of sales.
