Cons

As a lead manager, you are required to be a manager every single shift, but only get paid "shift lead pay" like once a week.

They hire super shy people that won't make eye contact, let alone sell, and get mad at you when you can't make them sell. I was a top seller in the district and outsold all the other managers combined, and STILL, it wasn't enough!

The pay structure wasn't even communicated until AFTER I started. Been in retail a long time and have had good and bad experiences, but this is the only one I've ever gave my feedback on because it was that bad!

They kept adding to our responsibilities as lead managers, like having us open and close so the higher-up managers could go home early, but don't pay us more. Between that and the amount of being yelled at by customers and managers multiple times per hour? Nope, not worth the cheap pay.

Management also puts the opportunity for advancement in front of you like a carrot on a stick.

If you like getting paid average pay, getting yelled at constantly, being lied to, having no real opportunities no matter how well you do, and being given all the responsibilities and having no support, work here!

Advice to Management

Be honest about the pay structure at the start.
