Fun atmosphere most of the time. I've been there 6 years and I love the people I work with. Customer interactions are very fun, and as long as you know what you're doing, it can be very easy as well.
Not paid enough for the amount of what you have to put up with. If you're a sales consultant like me, you deal with all the issues plus have to sell, and the salary doesn't quite match up. If you're a supervisor, you get paid more and have to do less work. It never made sense to me.
The only other thing is the politics. Every place has it, but you really have to make an effort. It's not always about how hard you work.
If you really want to get to know the employees who are applying for jobs within the company for promotion, try to make the interview more informal. Sitting across the table from someone and writing down everything they say is very uncomfortable.
Also, I shouldn't have to write everything down on paper every time I coached one of my fellow associates. If your job is to observe me, then do it. I should not be skipped over for promotion just because I didn't write something down on a piece of paper.
In a nutshell, cut down on being so formal and go back to having fun like it used to be.
