Pros

It's not just a job; the people are not just coworkers; it's not just a team. It's a family. We are all very close with one another and have become close outside of the work walls as well as inside. When the employee is happy, the customers will be happy. The raffles are great. All you do is study products, which takes maybe 5 minutes, and you're entered. I am a person who never wins anything. I have won almost one thousand dollars worth of items, and I've only been there a year. Plus monthly bonuses.

Cons

The only negative thing, I think, is the idea that the company chose to end several job titles. I understand it's a tough economy.

But it wasn't like it was just one title/one person per store. It was a large group. It felt like the company ripped out our backbone and just left us laying there. It causes us to rely on each other more, and being a family, we have each other's back. But that just was not a good choice at all.

Advice to Management
  1. Change is necessary, but not always the right choice.

  2. I love having my benefits. However, it would be more helpful if we could add benefits at any time during the year. Personally, I couldn't afford to add all that I really needed in the beginning of the year, but now that I can afford it, I'm not able to.

  3. I think every employee, regardless of credit, should be approved for a credit card. Those with good credit will just be eligible for a higher balance. And for those who decide to accept it, make it a requirement that a minimum monthly payment be automatically deducted from our pay. That way, it's a win-win situation. I know I would certainly spend more.
