I had great coworkers who were very knowledgeable in each of their sections. Best Buy was constantly looking for ways to improve, so I felt like I was able to become more and more effective at my job.
The sales goals/requirements didn't seem to match what could reasonably be expected. The goals were quantitative as opposed to qualitative measures; they didn't seem to be in the best interest of the customer.
Focus on the quality of work, not the quantity, and the results will be much better.
When I interviewed, I first had a screening interview with the store lead. After that was completed, I had an in-person interview with the store manager that maybe took 30 minutes.
Very laid back, almost too laid back. Nothing serious. Wore a suit, but felt casual was alright. I don't think the questions were too difficult; they mainly asked scenario and personality questions.
Very easy, basic interview with the store manager. The manager was very friendly and didn't just focus on sales questions, but also talked about our cultures, etc. He hired me on the spot, I signed the required documents, and I was good to go.
