In my opinion, the best part about working at Best Buy was my coworkers. The environment was always so friendly, and everyone made the best of each day. I ended up making friends for life.
Best Buy always talks about how they are non-commission, yet the management puts so much emphasis and pressure on selling services and warranties. It gets to the point that you feel like selling a product "dry" is frowned upon.
When I interviewed, I first had a screening interview with the store lead. After that was completed, I had an in-person interview with the store manager that maybe took 30 minutes.
Very laid back, almost too laid back. Nothing serious. Wore a suit, but felt casual was alright. I don't think the questions were too difficult; they mainly asked scenario and personality questions.
Very easy, basic interview with the store manager. The manager was very friendly and didn't just focus on sales questions, but also talked about our cultures, etc. He hired me on the spot, I signed the required documents, and I was good to go.
