An awesome place to learn and build current social skills. The employees are great. They play games when the store is closed to keep morale up if it was a slow day. Games are played in the morning as well to boost employees' moods in the early mornings.
It's hard to pick up shifts when the store isn't busy.
There are lots of shifts cut or layoffs when the store is in a slump.
You deal with some really stupid customers or stubborn ones who are just there to bother employees.
Don't be so sales-aggressive. Employees know they need to sell Geek Squad attachments, but sometimes it is hard, even with help.
When I interviewed, I first had a screening interview with the store lead. After that was completed, I had an in-person interview with the store manager that maybe took 30 minutes.
Very laid back, almost too laid back. Nothing serious. Wore a suit, but felt casual was alright. I don't think the questions were too difficult; they mainly asked scenario and personality questions.
Very easy, basic interview with the store manager. The manager was very friendly and didn't just focus on sales questions, but also talked about our cultures, etc. He hired me on the spot, I signed the required documents, and I was good to go.
