Pros
  • Very talented coworkers
  • Great tech stack
  • Promising product
Cons
  • Many of the company's goals are geared around marketing, and decisions are made without understanding the technical challenges. There are a lot of experts and designers weighing in, but even an honest mistake or last-minute decision can and will lead to hours upon hours of effort for the engineer.

  • No ramp-up time or proper learning path. You have to keep asking questions.

  • Loud office. No meaningful effort to add more desk space, and this prevents everyone from being in-person each day like they keep stressing.

Advice to Management

Bake in more time for engineer onboarding. Expecting a recent hire to learn your product to the same effect as your original hires is unrealistic, as your product becomes increasingly nuanced.
