The interview process was very smooth. The interviewer was welcoming and helpful, making it a very interactive experience.
A coding question was provided, and I was allowed to use any web search engine for assistance. The interviewer also offered help throughout the process, provided we discussed our approach at every step.
Even if I couldn't finish the entire problem, they assessed various areas, which they mentioned at the very start of the interview.

Pros: The products are world-class, the brand is well-known, design is a first-class citizen, and there is a lot of room for growth both as a company and an individual.
Cons: I think we're really going through growing pains right now. There have been so many people added to the company in a short period of time that there is a lot of chaos and sometimes overlapping efforts from team to team.
Leadership has definitely identified this and is doing a good job aligning efforts at a global level.

Pros: The environment is very professional and can be serious (we are dealing with people's money, information, and well-being).
At the same time, everyone does a great job of making it fun and enjoyable. I think this is a tough balance to strike, but Square does it well.
The engineers work very hard and are protective of the quality of work and coworkers.
The discussions (on the record and off) are very insightful about everything from payments, engineering, and life.
Company meetings and transparency are informative and motivating.
Cons: The size of the company can be daunting. There are a lot of people, and Square is growing.
There are and have been some growing pains caused from scaling a startup into a large company.
