Process
During an over-the-shoulder code challenge on a Zoom call with a mutual editor, I was told it would be purely vanilla JavaScript. However, it actually turned out to be using a framework. This frustrated the interviewer when I kept trying to solve the problem without the framework, as I hadn't realized yet that she actually wanted me to use it.

- 2.0Decent Pay, Toxic PoliticsSoftware Engineer • Current EmployeeMay 20, 2024Pros: Not much. You make decent pay and are fully remote.Cons: Directionless company with incredibly weak, racially homogenous leadership. Some of the most atrocious politics I've ever seen in my career - the situation has become even worse since Jack took over as CEO of Square. New CTO is way in over their head and known to disappear for weeks on end. WLB is non-existent post-reorgs.
- 4.0Good work-life balanceSoftware Engineer • Current EmployeeAtlanta, Georgia, United StatesJune 11, 2022Pros: All coworkers are really supportive and nice, and work-life balance is good.Cons: Some management issues and not amazing compensation.
- 1.0Easy Promotions, Bad ManagementSoftware Engineer • Current EmployeeSan Francisco, California, United StatesOctober 20, 2025Pros: Good work-life balance, benefits, and it's easy to be promoted.Cons: Inexperienced management, politics, and not much interesting work.
