A recruiter reached out to me.
I had a technical phone screen/1st round interview, then a second round interview with pair programming, then a final round interview with pair programming. All were about the same difficulty.
It was a positive experience. Pair programming takes a lot of the stress off.
The team uses an IDE that lets you run code, and you are allowed to google syntax things if necessary. I didn't google anything, but I would play around with the interpreter side of the online editor to test things out.

Pros: I haven't been here long, but everything I've experienced at the company has been positive so far. Everyone I've spoken to, from Jack down to my peers, is super intelligent and motivated. The products are meaningful and built so that anyone can understand and use them, even people who aren't on the cutting edge of technology. The office is gorgeous and stacked with perks and amenities.
Cons: Square feels like a little fish in a big pond with bigger companies tackling the same problems, but it feels like our size can be an advantage when it comes to moving quickly and innovating.

There are some really brilliant engineers.
Use of new and innovative technologies.
Lots of impact as a software engineer.

Cons: Some teams are definitely more toxic than others.
Engineering development practices and code quality are not consistent across teams.
Questionable hires lower the bar among all roles (engineering, product management, ops, etc.).
Some managers are terrible at managing.
