I flew down to New York for an in-person interview after a 45-minute phone screen.
The on-site interview consisted of:
- Two technical interviews
- One manager interview
- One HR interview
It lasted about 4-5 hours total.
The people were very nice, and the office is super nice.

Pros: Bloomberg is full of opportunities for people to learn about a variety of fields. The fact that Bloomberg's main business is finance allows you to learn about it, if you have an interest, which I found incredibly valuable. Also, given the many Bloomberg verticals, there are tons of opportunities for mobility within the company, which are also great learning opportunities.
Cons: Be sure to pick the right team. As in any big company, there are lots of good people, but there are also some teams which you want to avoid. Make sure to pick well.

Pros: You get to take things at your pace. You want to move fast and take up complex tasks? You can. Want to lay low for a few months while working on a part-time degree? Of course you can.
Cons: No pressure. Pretty old technology.
Some of the skills are not portable at all.
