The interview process for the Java development role consisted of three rounds.
The first round was a technical telephone interview, which I flew through.
The second round was a technical test involving an assignment. I completed this in time and was then invited for a face-to-face interview at their Dublin office. I had to travel to Dublin, a journey of about two hours from my location.
They turned me down after three rounds, with the reason given being: "Technical assignment was not up to their expectations." This seems like a disingenuous explanation, as it suggests they didn't even bother to review the assignment before inviting a candidate for a face-to-face interview.
The interviewer mentioned he was unable to find the EAP server I used in the assignment. This is peculiar, as the EAP used is available open-source. This further indicates they did not attempt to run the assignment on their system before the face-to-face meeting.
No offense intended, but these are basic steps one would expect during an interview process.
