Pros: Mostly great colleges. Good managers who care about their employees. Transparency (anyone can find out what other employees are working on). Opportunity to get training on the job. Employees are encouraged to move around, and there are programs specifically set up for employees to find the right team. Management is becoming more concerned about the needs of developers (everyone getting new computers and much bigger monitors). Some good technical work is done depending on the team.

Cons: A lot of what you experience can vary drastically depending on your team. Unfortunately, some teams may have to maintain applications written using outdated technology, but I think that is slowly changing for the better. Some internal politics to deal with, but I think this is inevitable in a company of this size.

Pros: I'm on a product that impacts many clients. As a result, there's always lots of work to do, from implementing new features to optimizing performance. My team almost feels like a startup, in that each person's contributions are valued and needed.

Cons: As the product I work on is already pretty mature, the features I work on sometimes feel like micro-optimizations to an already very stable product. I would like to see more analytics from features we ship, and would like to be more involved in what we do with such feedback. It seems like we never look back, and even if we create a feature that isn't used, we never seem to ask why. We always have tight deadlines ahead of us, and so implementing these new features takes priority. Sometimes I wonder what the product vision is.

Pros: Competitive salary and benefits, and opportunities for career advancement.

Cons: High-pressure, limited tech stack, and high performance expectations.
