Process

Telephonic Interview - 1 hour:

  • What will you do if a number is greater than the current max size in the language? (Use an array to store the number).

  • Asked me to write a program to add two integers stored in an array format. (Not that easy as it looks; took me a whole 15 minutes to write this...)

  • We went over HashMap and HashSet in Java. Why are they O(1) for both? Also, how hashCode gives the location of an element in the array in a HashMap, what operation is performed to get it, and so on...

Questions

Given a method with a for loop of 100,000 iterations, calling some method with a heavy operation (for that exercise, sleep was used). All results from the method calls were stored in an array. How would you improve performance?

Question: How does the messaging framework work? What if two brokers are connected, and one publisher publishes to a queue while two subscribers on different brokers are waiting? How is the message delivered?

I was given a program with errors that connected to an endpoint in Java using HttpClient. I needed to check what the problem was.
