General Interview Process at Bloomberg for Software Engineering Role:
The interview process consisted of five rounds in total, starting directly with a technical phone screen — no online assessment was involved.
This was a 45-minute technical interview with one engineer. The experience was friendly and conversational. I was asked a coding problem related to stacks. The interviewer was supportive, and it felt like a smooth introduction to the process.
This round stood out. It was conducted by two interviewers simultaneously, and the dynamic between them felt like a “good cop, bad cop” routine. One was encouraging, while the other was more direct and critical. The problem itself was challenging and required efficient implementation under pressure, with follow-up questions focused on edge cases and optimization.
Despite my efforts, I struggled with the intensity of this round and wasn’t able to fully meet the expectations. I wasn’t moved forward in the process after this.
The second interview contained a data parsing problem simulating transactions. Since they are finance-oriented, the first one was around stacks.
