The process began with a phone call and a HackerRank codepair session with an engineer. I was asked about my background and projects on my resume. We then jumped right into technical questions, where I was asked to design a class to track currency pair exchange rates.

Design a class with two methods:
addPairgetRate
addPair takes a bank, currency pair, and exchange rate.
getRate returns the average rate for a given currency pair across all banks.
getRate should run in O(1) time.
