I applied online and was invited for a phone interview, followed by an on-site interview. The interview was scheduled to start at 10:30 am, but it began at 11:05 am.
It started with a tour of their [amazing] building. The tour mainly consisted of mentions of celebrities who have visited Bloomberg or lived in the penthouse atop their building.
Then, I had two interviews:
The questions were basic graph/tree traversal and string manipulation problems. The interviewers were not very knowledgeable. I solved a question using DFS, and one interviewer insisted that BFS was a better approach for a very specific example (he was right for that specific instance, but on average, both have the same runtime).
During another question, I was trying to solve it with dynamic programming, and the interviewer couldn't understand the solution. He asked me to write it recursively.
After both interviews concluded, I was told to wait for the recruiter. She returned 40 minutes later.
Overall, it was a very negative experience.
