Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

The interview did not start on time.

One of the interviewers was absent, and another one randomly jumped into the call.

The second part of the interview was completely random. They asked a one-hour-long question that was unrelated to the position and hence my experience.

One of the interviewers had a strong accent and was in a room full of noise. I had difficulties understanding him, and he didn't seem to care.

I just feel they were not interested in hiring someone (or me) at the moment, and this is the worst thing that can happen during an interview to make you feel down from the start. Unless you're beyond excellent and flawless, you know you've already failed.

I hate these interviews. They feel like a complete waste of time and energy.
