Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The first round was a technical call. I was given two easy-level LeetCode problems, which I passed.

The second round (onsite) consisted of two interviews back-to-back (45 minutes each).

  • In each interview, I was asked about 30 minutes of CS trivia questions, followed by approximately 15 minutes of coding.
  • The coding problems were not actual LeetCode questions; both were original, made-up questions.

Most of the interview involved verbally explaining CS concepts, which I did not expect, so I did not receive an offer.

If you are practicing for a new grad position, I highly recommend spending a few days explaining basic CS concepts out loud.

Questions

The first-round interviews focused on array and string manipulation leetcode problems.
