Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I had a phone interview after speaking with a recruiter at a school career fair. The interviewer called 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. I did not have my laptop ready with me, as I was told in the email that the interview would be done using codepair.com. So, I politely asked him to call me at the scheduled time. He then called 20 minutes later than the scheduled time. That was fine with me.

However, the entire interview was full of random, easy questions. He asked me to write code on paper and read it to him. When I showed him my solution, he said, "Why don't you use XXX? Have you not learned it?" That problem could be solved using the same time complexity in my way.

It sounded like he was in a rush because he was super impatient and interrupted me several times when I was talking. It is by far the most negative interview experience I've ever had.

From the moment I felt I was treated unfairly, I stopped anticipating the result because I don't think I'll take the offer, even if I get in.
