I applied for a software engineering internship/placement role in London, UK.
The process started with a phone interview invitation received about one week after submitting my CV. The interview itself consisted mostly of LeetCode problems with a few behavioural questions.
Afterwards, I was invited for a virtual on-site interview, which had three parts:
I had to pass each part sequentially, so each section was scheduled separately.
I was rejected after the final HR stage, but the recruiter offered me feedback, which helped me understand areas to improve in my interviewing skills.
The overall experience was positive for me. However, I would slightly alter the organisation of an "on-site" interview. Although I appreciated scheduling its parts separately, there should not be very long breaks between them. In my case, the parts were always a few weeks apart, effectively extending the process to three months from CV submission to rejection.
