Lots of free food, snacks, etc.
Note that all ratings given here are from the perspective of a contractor on the WSS Core Services Team, in R&D (a truly miserable place to contract due to the supervisors that run it).
Contractors on the WSS Core Services Team are treated with no support or regard. You are a cog, nothing more. You receive absolutely no support or development of any kind. Requests for information are constantly met with annoyance and dismissals. You are frequently left out of team meetings and other huddle discussions. You have no external access to systems but are required to perform exactly as a full-time employee with full access (meaning that you have to be in the building ALL the time).
The WSS Core Services Team in the R&D Division is a terrible, terrible place to contract.
Treat contractors as you say you do: FAIRLY.
Give long-term contractors external access to systems, or do NOT expect them to "own" systems the way a full-time employee does.
DEVELOP contractors fairly; do not expect them to walk through the door and understand undocumented, complex systems in a day.
Provide introductions and assist them in succeeding for at least a month or so.
And STOP SAYING that a contractor should not need any assistance or information in order to be productive from day one!
The first conversation was with an internal recruiter. The next one was a coding interview. The coding exercise involved one of the team members. They presented the first exercise, and after it was completed, the second exercise was presented. You h
Good interview process. Interview questions are very relevant to the role. Coding is a very big part of the interview, irrespective of the team. System design questions are more relevant and team-based.
The interview was pretty straightforward, but they demanded more accurate answers. I was contacted by a recruiter and opted for an interview two months later in order to prepare. I bombed the online assessment.
