As in most of NY companies, the work environment can be noisy with lots of people and some distractions.
Management could do a better job. Sometimes they are too tough on a person and schedule. There are some problems in listening to the developer and understanding his/her position.
The evaluation process is somewhat subjective; there are work metrics, code metrics, and Jira metrics to precisely evaluate people and what they have done through the year.
Listen better to your subordinates. I think Bloomberg loses talented developers because sometimes management should listen to them better regarding their suggestions, needs, and ideas.
