Pros
  • Nice office.
  • Pay if you are good at your job.
  • Don't fire people unless you are really bad.
  • Challenging work, rate always a lot to do.
Cons
  • Proprietary code and system.
  • A lot of bad legacy code and firefighting.
  • Get ready to be micromanaged on everything.
  • Processes are decided by out-of-touch managers and cannot be changed.
  • Employee feedback is never taken into account.
  • Get ready to be considered untrustworthy, even after years.
  • Turnover is really high (60% of the company has been here less than two years), so nobody knows how things work.
  • Even though the company boasts about its unique culture and flexibility, don't be fooled; they will let you down if you need them (sickness, disaster).
  • Everything is at manager discretion (so some people get a lot – trips, free meals – but most get nothing).
  • Priorities change every five minutes.
  • Fewer and fewer perks.
Advice to Management
  • Trust people more.
  • Don't annoy people over petty things (working at other offices, lunch hours, removing team meals).
  • Listen to feedback.
  • Don't inflict collective punishment because of some bad apples.
  • Stop disparities between the treatment of employees within the team.
