Work-life balance is valued. A very good point is that the company supports you doing charity work on their time through a system called "BOB".
Usual cons of a large company: Sometimes a lot of coordination between teams, some processes that might feel like a hindrance, and some meetings that aren't the most productive or even useful.
But overall, Bloomberg fares quite a bit better than other large companies I know when it comes to those pitfalls. No horror stories to report.
