Mechanical Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I was scheduled to have a phone interview, but the hiring manager didn't call me. I anxiously waited by my phone for a few hours. I then emailed the hiring manager and followed up with a second email a few days later when he didn't reply. He replied to that email a few days later, saying that they had gone with a different candidate.

I had spent a few days studying for the interview and an afternoon waiting for the interviewer to call. The hiring manager didn't care that he wasted so much of my time and did not offer an apology.

Glassdoor requires me to give a difficulty rating for this interview, so I'll have to rate it as "very difficult" since it's extremely challenging to have an interview when the interviewer does not show up.

Questions

Be prepared to go over your experiences in detail during the interview. (I was told this by the hiring manager before the phone interview, but the hiring manager stood me up and didn't call.)
