Pros

People really try to provide the best results they can. Times are difficult, and people tend to make the real difference, not the processes.

Cons

Politics, unbalanced funding, and mindless cost reductions. Executive decisions are forcing management to cut or curtail needed services to meet affordability targets that are unrealistic. Then, those same execs expect new and enhanced services. There is a big difference between Lean+, service continuity, and service enhancements. All are necessary, but they need to be balanced with reality.

Advice to Management

Balance or remove the conflicts among the plentitude of initiatives. The executives are too focused on the near term, which will have an increasing adverse impact on future success and viability.
