Inefficient middle management (with some exceptions). No growth opportunities. Frequent management shuffle. The majority of lower to middle management is clueless about what they manage. Low employee morale. Middle management travels and meets with vendors without any background or understanding of the technology.
Make lower-rung management spend some time to understand the technology they are managing and motivate/support their team, instead of wasting their capability playing petty politics and joining unnecessary meetings.
Give more freedom and authority to technical people to contribute to product and technology strategy.
