Interns are encouraged to explore the company and go on lots of tours. They actually have me doing legitimate work, and I am contributing to the team.
A huge corporation which involves bureaucratic issues. It seems like everything takes forever to get done or approved, but that's due to the company's size and FAA regulations.
My experience with management was great, and they make it a priority to welcome the interns and put them to work. They treat interns like regular employees, which was great.
However, as a young woman walking through the factory every day to get to my office, I would frequently get cat-called and/or weird comments from men, and that alone makes me seriously consider not taking a full-time position here.
The interview process was simple. Two engineers interviewed me. There were a few behavioral questions and questions about my goals and passion. Just be sure to practice these from YouTube.
Interviewed at a Society of Women Engineers convention. It was a great interview, but a very competitive process. Felt like I learned a lot about the company culture and was excited about the work opportunities.
A few non-technical questions. No technical ones. Not that bad. Also, resume walkthrough. Nice people and non-stressful environment. Just answer the questions and you'll be fine. Don't think about it too hard.
