Good, but dependent on managers and what you put into it
- Best work-life balance that I have experienced.
- If engaged, then you can develop a lot of useful skills.
- Lots of opportunities to get involved.
- Decent system for promotions and level-ups.
- Decent pay for some roles.
- Very dependent on work area and manager.
- Reminder: Some people are riding out to retirement, so they might not be so helpful.
- If the team you support is not willing to work with you, you will not have a good time.
- Heard other engineering departments are very tough in getting promotions.
- Pay could be more dependent on job roles/type/classification.
- Not a great understanding of decisions from higher-ups.
Share more visibility on company decisions and how they affect someone's job role. If they are a function that relays information to other teams, then prepare them for that as well, or give them a stance to talk to.
