Good work/life balance. The job seems secure. Good entry-level salary. Good benefits (401k, medical, and educational assistance). Friendly, approachable, and welcoming coworkers. It's a large company, so there's a large community attached to it.
I'm called an engineer, but I don't actually do engineering. I'm largely a low-level project manager, but without the salary of a PM. I have no interest in the work, and what I do is excruciatingly boring. It feels like I'm quickly becoming invaluable as an engineer, and stuck with this company. The pay is okay for an ME, but not great for the location. The bureaucracy and disconnect between work statements is insane! I think this is a collect-a-paycheck job, not a career.
The culture and bureaucracy suck. I became an engineer to solve real problems and feel like my life is being wasted here. Boeing was once known as the cream of the crop engineering company; now, it just feels like a shell whose only purpose is profit. Management needs to evolve and inject some life into the company.
Interviewed online by two senior engineers. First, a self-introduction and opportunity to pitch oneself for the job. Then, five questions to be answered using the STAR (Situation > Task > Action > Result) format. These weren't so much knowledge-bas
Get the interview through referral, then get a call to schedule a Zoom interview. It's pretty standard for Boeing, a mixture of behavioral and technical questions in a panel format.
It was a series of phone calls. The first was just to gauge if you would be a good fit for the job. The second was with a group of people asking star-related questions. It holds a lot of weight, though.
