The lower-level company culture seemed pretty good. Everyone I worked with was always friendly and helpful. My immediate boss was great and did a wonderful job advocating for our group.
The pay and benefits in the Seattle area were respectable. Not amazing, but I would say slightly above average. I was pleased with them.
So much bureaucracy and red tape. No one knew how to actually get anything done. Every single project felt like it was the blind leading the blind through a maze of red tape. The meetings were endless. Meetings about upcoming meetings. It wasn't uncommon to spend half of your workday in meetings that were barely relevant to your job but you were still expected to be there for some reason.
Cut down on the red tape.
Phone screen asking about resume and background. Interview half was behavioral questions, and the second half went into some technical questions. Panel interview with engineers in the field asking a lot of technical questions.
Applied through Boeing’s website. One 30-minute interview. They were upfront about next steps, and decisions were made within a day. If an offer was given, a follow-up interview would be done with different teams to determine placement for full-time.
