Bureaucracy permeates everything. The only thing Boeing doesn’t have a written process for is going to the bathroom. Some days are just hours of looking for the right forms, waiting for someone’s signature, or sending emails into the ether.
Pay is decent relative to other “traditional engineering” companies and fields, but Seattle is a software engineering town. For a level 1 position at Boeing, 75-85k is peanuts compared to the compensation thrown around for level 1 positions at, say, Amazon.
Much respect and organization during the hiring phase. They called me to schedule an interview; I was interviewed by a Brazilian and an American. I had interviews and received an offer. I accepted because the salary was the same as I was receiving,
Begins with a set of personal abilities questions and problem-solving capabilities questions that will access the technical and logical reasoning of the candidate, followed by core technical capabilities that may be specific to JD requirements.
STAR Method. Panel interview with other engineers in your potential department. Five questions, behavioral based (non-technical). The questions were fairly easy. They want to know more about how you reacted to situations rather than the outcome.
