- Ability to integrate technology into Aerospace and other HW Products.
- Smart co-workers and business people make the work interesting and fun.
IT Executive Management is more focused on bottom-line cost savings than quality of product. Lots of work shifted to India, with less focus on US workers. Getting approval for necessary SW, tools, etc. is very difficult and bureaucratic. Current Exec Leadership doesn't understand SW Development or seem to care to learn. Over-reliance on consultants' flavor-of-the-month Organization Structure and Management approach causes huge disruption with little benefit.
Hire a CIO that has a technology background. Listen to your people, including senior developers, architects, and tech fellows. Place more emphasis on development and results, and less on consultants' views of the latest management styles to try.
