A company that makes an amazing array of products. Boeing builds big, complex things like no other company.
Surprisingly, in the realm of Information Technology, Boeing is far behind many other companies of similar size and stature. While there are pockets of brilliance and people who are truly industry leaders in their area of specialization, the typical Boeing IT employee lacks the skills normally expected of an Information Technology employee. For whatever reason, Boeing IT has a disproportionate number of highly non-technical people amongst its population.
Boeing IT management needs to find a way to rid themselves of their aging, non-technical workforce and infuse the organization with new, young, capable talent that can support the needs of Boeing's 2nd Century.
Initial interview was by the recruiter, who told me the process and the salary range. It was followed by a tech interview. The tech interview was a mix of technical questions, past experience, and logic.
Interesting interview process. The initial interview round was a behavioral/culture fit type interview and didn’t seem to mind that I had never worked with Java before. I would have been leading a team that was based in India.
Phone screener at first. Then a 1-hour interview with a management panel; in my case, it was three people. Online interview only. The recruiter was very helpful and honest. Positive experience overall.
